While you may feel close to nature and the marine ecosystem while on your next yacht cruise, most environment conscious people will still know that their yacht is polluting the delicate ecosystem with harmful emissions. Texas-based industrial designer Jonathan Russell has conceptualized a mega-yacht that, if ever produced, could well be the greenest in the world.

The yacht features an environmentally friendly concept roof, dubbed the Windquil Roof, which features a set of solar cells that also double as wind energy generators. The roof covers the entire surface of the yacht and as sun hits the roof and wind blows over it, renewable electricity is generated that is supplied to the yacht’s electric propulsion system. The roof is made out of 6000 individual surfaces, each of which is designed to produce the maximum amount of renewable electricity.

On the design front, the rear of the yacht detaches to become a getaway island for the guests. Moreover, the yacht features a pool and a bar. The interior spaces of this 310 feet yacht, are destined to showcase the best in luxury and amenities.

Cheers! Jonathan
